Web Editors Wanted

Making Waves is looking to appoint native web editors with Swedish/Danish to run a reward winning and prestigious tourism website. 

 

We are searching for native Swedish/Danish editors. The web editor will be responsible not only for publishing comprehensive and unique content, but also for ensuring company’s continued success in the tourism media field. Working closely with other online editors you will attract the core local user groups and develop quality content which links the print and web products. Your job will also involve translations.


Principal duties and responsibilities

  • Copyedits articles as needed, reviews prepared pages of text and product templates, reviews graphical elements, tables and charts, writes editorials and articles
  • Takes responsibility for grammatical accuracy, clarity, completeness, appropriateness of the articles for target audience, and conformity to established standard format guidelines of visitnorway.com
  • Is in charge of content tagging and linking, picture adjustment
  • Does the web content translations
  • Develops, maintains, and utilizes knowledge of travel industry and trends, competitive environment
  • Establishes and maintains positive professional relationships with industry experts, and other internal and external contacts
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

The ideal candidate

  • Is native in one of the following languages Swedish/Danish
  • Is fluent in English
  • Is web literate and familiar with latest internet tools such as SEO, Google Analytics  
  • Has worked with web content management systems
  • Has strong writing skills, previous editorial experience will be an advantage
  • Demonstrates competency in use of editing and proofreading skills to resolve stylistic, grammatical, and form of written material
  • Copes with translations (English to selected language)
  • Is self-organized and self-motivated to work independently and with minimal direction
  • Has excellent written and oral communications skills

Additional

  • Multimedia skills and familiarity with editing tools will be an advantage
  • Experience in targeting a specialist audience will be more than welcome
  • General knowledge of tourism market will be an asset
